Our story

Founded in 1976, Kip McGrath has been helping primary and secondary school age children all over the world to improve or extend their learning. With over 500 centres globally, we know what works.

Kip Mcgrath Chelmsford was established in 2016 by myself – Arati. My goal is simple: get to know each child as an individual and help them reach their potential. I have a degree in Maths and I’m fully qualified to teach English in the centre.

What Parents Say About Kip McGrath

SUZANNE

It's so refreshing to find teachers who truly want your children to succeed and not to just be a static..not all children learn the same way. When a teacher makes a effort to get to know the child and tap into the potential the results speak for themselves. Without teachers like this my children would never have got the results they achieved.

We would like to thank Kip McGrath and especially Arati for all her help with tutoring our son. She has really helped our son build his confidence and we have seen a huge increase in his performance in Maths & English. We would recommend her in the the future. Thanks Arati!"

PARVIN

We have seen a great improvement in Zach's maths in the short space of time that he's been coming to Arati and he is doing really well at school too. It was very encouraging that he was moved into the top half set of the Year 5 classes so we know that he is definitely on the correct path. His confidence in maths has grown immensely. Highly recommended."

SARAH

My 12 year old has been getting on fine at school and although I didn't have a particular area of concern I wanted to give her a little extra help with her maths before she starts her GCSE course. My other daughter had been to Kip McGrath before so we knew how it works and we were confident that it would be beneficial. We met with Arati and she gave my daughter a few questions to assess her ability, she started her first lesson the following week. I was worried that my shy daughter would not want to go, but Arati has been very well received. The work set is correctly pitched, it is taxing but not disheartening and she receives weekly homework too. Arati is very approachable and gives me feedback after sessions. I am confident that my daughter will benefit from her help, I only wish I had enrolled her sooner.

LILY

I have always struggled with algebra in school. I have had several tutors who tried to help me but were no successful. With Arati, it all just fell into place easily. The computer programs and the worksheets are very well thought out. Amazing resources but more importantly amazing teacher.

ADIL

Just 10 months before my GCSE Maths, I went to Arati and immediately identified areas of maths that I had to work on. I was predicted a grade E but was very pleased with my outcome (A*). I would definitely recommend her to anyone.

TOM

I like to be challenged and taught difficult concepts. Arati makes some work challenging but pays careful to attention to the fact we must work within the curriculum. I love getting KIP points and prizes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Currently, we only teach maths and english. We will be introducing other subjects soon.

Our centre takes children as young as 4 years old right up to the age of 18, just before children attend university.

Every child is different, so it is important they come for their FREE ASSESSMENT so that we can come up with a planand set goals to work towards.

There is no contract or obligation to attend for a long time.

Yes, but it is imperative you contact us in advance to give your child the best chance of success, allowing them to have enough time to prepare.

Parents’ evenings are often the best way to give an indication as to whether your child is struggling in their studies.

You can also try communicating with them and finding out what areas of Maths and English they struggle with in their homework.

Constantly asking for help, tears and tantrums or having to constantly nag them to get them to their homework can all be telltale signs that the work is getting too hard for them.

A session is 80 minutes long.

If your child is unable to attend their booked session, his/her tutor can change it to a home make up lesson or a flexi lesson.
